Gamma (TiAl) Alloy Technology 2012 5-9 June, 2012, Beijing, China

This meeting is an international forum to provide opportunity for discussing and exchanging our experience and knowledge base, advances made recently, facing issues/barriers, appropriate solutions, suggestions, realizations, and steering the directions in the gamma alloy materials-process technologies. The program will be formatted to emphasize discussion and interaction over traditional presentation routines. This global meeting, "Gamma TiAl Alloy Technology 2012," is intended to unify and replace the following major International gamma alloy meetings:

       - Symposium on Gamma Aluminide Alloys (ISGTA) – 1995, 1999, 2003
         - Workshop on Gamma Titanium Aluminides – 2004, 2005, 2006, 2011  
 
In spite of attractive attributes and significant technical/engineering progresses made over the last twenty years, gamma (TiAl-based) alloys have not been widely implemented into services due to various issues and barriers described in the 2nd Announcement. Thinking and assessing differently the existing information and data to shed light on the facing issues will be emphasized equally to experimental data and results that are fresh & significant. Various application potentials as well as recent, exciting advances in new gamma alloys will also be addressed.
